Bennett Centre Fire

The annex of the Bennett Centre sustained significant damage due to the fire August 20, 2008 with the roof being completely destroyed. The older Bennett Centre Building was not damaged by the fire.

Plans to re-build the residence are underway with construction starting May 2009 with possible completion by spring 2010.

In the meantime we are conducting day programs as usual.

To enhance students learning by providing indoor and outdoor experiences that actively engage students in their curriculum.

To provide a learning atmosphere which values our heritage and places high priority on personal appreciation of and responsibility for preserving outdoor environments.

Bennett Centre is operated by Edmonton Public Schools as an 'in-city' Environmental Education Centre for the benefit of school students.
